About the course

The course begins with a brief introduction to writing a complete screenplay, along with tips and tricks for rewriting.

Through sessions on advanced visual storytelling, subtext and exposition, you will explore techniques to strengthen your writing. There will be ample opportunities to revise and refine your screenplay throughout the course.

In one of the final sessions, you will focus on the business side of screenwriting, gaining essential knowledge to help you write what sells, and sell what you write.

Any essential or recommended reading will be shared by the course teacher once the course is confirmed to run.

You will require access to a device with an internet connection.

What you'll learn

If you have fully engaged with all the learning activities and have attended regularly, by the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Develop an idea into a marketable script;
  • Pitch a screen story in both written and oral form;
  • Apply advanced professional techniques to your own writing.
